Buena Vista

David’s own stylish residence, located on Buena Vista park next to elegant Victorian and Edwardian homes, was transformed using the 1920s and 1950s French Deco as his inspiration.
Starting with the architecture, he raised the ceilings, reconfigured the entry staircase, installed molding around the ceiling to create boundaries between living room and dining room, and carved a 16-foot arced skylight in the ceiling of a hall leading to the master bedroom to add light and structural interest. The home showcases dozens of works of art, sleek furniture juxtaposed with unusual objects and materials for impact, pieces of his own design, and luxurious silks and furs. “I wanted the house to be a sophisticated, adult place to hang out and entertain,” he says.
